Mistress Julia of Massalane

Date of Birth:  July 1977

Julie was the first female mastiff at the Old School.  Basically, we decided that we were going to be mastiff breeders and so we searched for a bitch that complimented Hannibal in pedigree and in structure.  That lead us to Massalane mastiffs.

Julie was shipped to us at 6 months of age and she was exactly what we asked for.  She had a lot of body and bone, and a super rear.  That body style and rear has tended to stay with our line, sometimes to a greater extent than others, but part of the reason is because of Julie, our foundation bitch.  The photo to the right was taken, as you could probably tell, when Julie was an old lady.
